To analyze and critique the depiction of loss and grief in current films.
Select 4 films that are related to the course topics. They are to be viewed during the quarter you are enrolled in this course. Your reviews should incorporate the following sections with each labeled by name.
Identify the title of the film or video, if applicable the name of the theater, and the time and place of viewing, the date the film was produced, the director's name, and the author's name.
What was the main point of the film?
Summarize the plot. Discuss and illustrate, from the action of the film, the objectives of the author or film writer and the major ideas expressed.
Describe 1 or 2 major characters.
Relate the psychological aspects of the film to the theories and information from the course content. Using parenthesis, refer to specific textbook pages to which your analysis relates.
Critique the author-director's ideas and methods. Discuss the clarity with which s/he expressed the ideas.
Discuss YOUR response to the film. Did you gain an understanding about the behavior of the characters? Did you gain any new ideas about behavior? Did you enjoy the film? What are your personal feelings about the film?
