Exams

There are 3 exams.
Each exam is worth 100 points.
Each exam contains 50 questions. 
There are 25 true/false questions each worth 2 points and
25 multiple choice questions each worth 2 points.

An answer sheet accompanies each exam.
You may use either a pen or pencil to mark your responses.
No grade is earned unless all exams are taken.
 

  • If you live beyond driving distance from Sinclair Community College

  • (60 mile radius from the College),
    please contact the Distance Learning Office to
    make arrangements for your Exams.
    The Distance Learning phone number is 1-888-226-2457 or 937-512-2990.
  • If you live within driving distance of the College,

  • you will take the exam at the Testing Center, 
    Room 10-445
    (Building 10, fourth floor).
    • You are responsible for making an appointment to take the exams.
    • The Testing (Assessment) Center phone number is 937-512-3076 
    • or 1-800-315-3000 (ask for Testing center).
    • Please read the Assessment Center Policies and Tips.
    • Dates for taking all 3 exams should be scheduled early  
    • in the quarter as testing center appointments fill up early!
  • Plan ahead!!!

Participation On-Line

On our Dialogue About the Law page,
I will post discussion cases to which you respond for participation points.
Each discussion case is worth 0 to 20 points.
You must respond with 15 lines to earn any points.
No points will be earned for less.
 

Optional Research PaperThis is an optional activity.
The research paper is not required. It is your choice.
Any points you earn for the paper are added on
to the points you earn on the exams and participation.

The topic of your research paper must focus 
on material covered in this course.
The object of writing a research paper is to learn 
more about an area that interest you from a legal perspective. 

Your paper is evaluated on content, spelling
and grammar on a scale from 0–20.
The date by which the optional research paper
must be submitted is on the Date Due page.

On or before the due dates, your research paper
may be sent to me or left with the secretary in Room 5141.
Your graded research paper will be returned to you by mail.

Your research paper must follow the rules listed below.
No grade can be earned for a research paper unless
these rules are followed.

1. Typed,
2. Double-spaced,
3. Staple pages together,
4. List name, course section number 
and title of paper on cover page,
5. Minimum of six (6) full pages, maximum of ten (10) pages,
(no grade will be given to a paper of less than 6 full pages), 
6. Number pages,
7. List at least three (3) resources, not including your text,
on a separate bibliography page, 
8. Do not use folder or plastic cover as it cannot be returned, and
9. Must be submitted by due date (can be submitted before 
      due date).
