The Dayton Art Institute (DAI)

The Dayton Art Institute was founded at the time of the Great Depression
by Mrs. Harry Carnell. What began as a lovely Renaissance revival-style
building housing original art, casts of famous sculptures, an art library
an art school, and a menagerie, has turned into a respected encyclopedic
museum. An encyclopedic collection is a broad collection of art representing
a variety of time periods and cultures.
The Dayton Art Institute has in its collection art from Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. Examples of art from Ancient Egypt to Andy Warhol can be found there.
