Corporations are the second major patron of the arts in the US today. Corporations purchase art for their headquarters, and also underwrite art exhibits and give donations to museums. Mead, for instance a paper manufacturer, funded the Dayton Art Institute's "Works on Paper" exhibit several years ago, and donated paper for the posters and catalogs that accompanied the Willis "Bing" Davis retrospective exhibits in Dayton in 1997 (at First National Plaza, Sinclair, and DVAC.) The Ponderosa Collection is a large part of the Dayton Art Institute's collection.
