Community Projects - Understanding Identity Art Quilts
You are also invited to participate in the 2009 REACH Community Art Project

Understanding Identity Quilt
A quilt is made of many pieces; so are you! Each of us is the sum of many experiences and influences. Each “piece” helps create your identity. Tell us about yourself by creating an
8-by-8-inch quilted square that will be joined with others and displayed at the 16th Annual REACH Across Dayton Studies Conference at Sinclair Community College.

Artists will provide direction and encouragement as you create a piece of fabric art. Materials
are provided, and there is no fee to participate. All ages are welcome;

Drop-in workshops will be held at the Dayton Visual Arts Center, 118 N. Jefferson St., during January and February. Artists who will help during the workshops include: Jane A. Black, Debbie Emerick, Winnie Fiedler, Yuki Hall, Gerry Fogarty, Nosha Namahoyta, Christina Pereyma, Peri Irish Switzer and Sharon Weltner.

    Workshops dates and times are:

  • Thursday, Jan. 29, 5-8 p.m
  • Saturday, Jan. 31, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Thursday, Feb. 19, 5-8 p.m.
