- University Development Linkages Project (UDLP)
- In 1990, Sinclair Community College was awarded a $750,000 grant funded by USAID to establish a Centre for Vocational Education in Madras, India. The purpose was to have US faculty visit Madras and develop short-term curriculum aimed at early high school leavers. At the completion of the grant, more than 30 US community college faculty had visited Madras and over 2,000 young people had been trained. This was the first grant of its type to be administered by a community college. This five-year grant ended in December 1998.
- Fulbright Educational Partnerships Program
- This Program sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs is formerly the College and University Affiliations Program. This is a $120,000 grant jointly managed by Sinclair and Stella Maris College in Madras, India. The purpose of the grant was to develop a functional literacy curriculum targeting women in rural villages. At the completion of the grant, the curriculum was established and operating in three villages in the Madras area. This grant ran three years ending in summer 1999.
