Academic Support
No matter where you are, you should receive the same support as traditional, on-campus students. If you ever experience any concerns about your online learning courses—before or during the term—you deserve a resolution in a timely manner.
Here is some key information you should keep in mind:
-
Faculty
For any questions you might have regarding your course material, project/assignment submission, missed assignments/tests or conflict with test dates, you must contact the faculty member teaching the course. The faculty member's name, including phone number and email address can be found on your course syllabus. -
Student ID (Tartan Card)
Your student identification card, referred to as a 'Tartan Card', can be obtained directly from the Office of Registration and Student Records or, if you live beyond 60 miles from campus, one will be mailed to you from the Division of Distance Learning & Instructional Support to your home address. - Student ID Number
This is a nine-digit number assigned to you once you have submitted your application for admission and remains your ID number throughout your career at Sinclair. This number is used for a variety of services:- Ordering course materials
- Parking services
- Technical support
- and many other academic services…
- Academic and Placement Testing
For local learners, all placement and/or academic testing is completed at the Sinclair Testing Center. Other testing options are available to students who live more than 60 miles away from campus. In addition, if you are a non-local learner using a test proctor, you will need to print and complete the required proctor form (PDF) and mail or fax it to the Distance Learning office by the first day of the term.
