Dental Hygiene Students Receive 100% Pass Rates

Students of Sinclair's dental hygiene program regularly demonstrate exemplary pass rates and this year's students kept the tradition. The second-year students of the program recently received 100% pass rates on the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination (NBDHE). This year, Sinclair's dental hygiene students scored higher, at 84%, on the exam than the national average of 81%. This compares with all dental hygiene students across the country, from both two- and four-year programs.

Currently a department within the Division of Life and Health Sciences, the dental hygiene program has been at Sinclair since 1973. With a Dental Hygiene Accreditation from the American Dental Association, Sinclair is the only dental hygiene school in Ohio with a contemporary Dental Simulation Lab. The program also houses a Dental Hygiene Clinic that provides a variety of services to the Dayton community and beyond.

In addition to a two-year program, Sinclair's Department of Dental Hygiene Technology also offers several training programs for continuing education. This February, the department began offering continuing education courses in Certified Dental Assisting. The first group of students from these courses will finish this spring and the next group of students will begin courses this summer.
