Incident Training Exercise to Occur August 26 in Sinclair Library

On Wednesday, August 26, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sinclair Police will participate in an incident training exercise along with members of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office SWAT and Hostage Negotiation Teams. The Sinclair Library, including the upper level walkways between buildings, will be closed to all faculty, students, staff, and visitors throughout the exercise.

Library employees will also participate in the training to practice their response to a potential major incident.

During the training, it is very likely that marked police vehicles and personnel will be seen in various parts of the downtown campus. These vehicles will be part of the exercise and there is no need to be alarmed or concerned. It is also possible that news media, including television news crew vehicles and personnel will be on site to report on the training exercise.

Please let Sinclair Campus Safety Director Chuck Gift know if you have any concerns about this planned exercise or have questions regarding its scope. You can reach Chief Gift at extension 2534 or charles.gift@sinclair.edu.

Please share this information with anyone whom you believe has a need to know, including students, colleagues and potential campus visitors. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
