Sinclair Community College

Sinclair Named Military Friendly School

DAYTON, OH (09/01/10) – GI Jobs Magazine recently deemed Sinclair Community College a "Military Friendly School."

Each year, GI Jobs chooses new schools that are the most accommodating for military students. Only 15 percent of colleges, universities, and trade schools in the country are chosen. This year, there are 1,220 schools on the list.

Sinclair offers many services to help out student veterans through the Veteran’s Assistance program. Students can receive assistance with schedulin g classes, financial problems, career goals, and much more.

As of October 2009, Sinclair ranked first in terms of the number of veterans on campus among Ohio colleges and universities with 1,120 veterans. The Ohio State University and Cuyahoga Community College have the next largest student military populations.

GI Jobs goes through an extensive research process before they include a school on the list. Some of the factors are ease of transferring credits, flexible learning programs, financial support, and the number of enrolled military students. They also look at special services and programs for military students.
