Sinclair to Offer Compression Planning Institute in February
Dayton, Ohio – The Sinclair Community College Workforce Development division will offer a two-and-one-half day highly interactive Compression Planning Institute Feb. 8-10.

Compression Planning is a powerful meeting facilitation process that ensures the group's combined energy and innovative thinking is captured and the ultimate desired outcomes are reached quickly, effectively, and at least 30% faster. It provides a reliable, structured way to pull all of the pieces of information together, clarify what's next, recognize what's missing, and implement an action plan.

The seminar will be presented by Jerry McNellis, founder of the Compression Planning Institute, and his staff. It will be held at the Sinclair Conference Center on the college’s downtown Dayton campus.

Sinclair routinely uses compression planning within its Grants Office. “With compression planning, we have successfully been awarded over $100 million in grants over the past 20 years. This system allows us to produce better proposals 30% faster than our competition and has led to our office achieving a $40 to $1 return on investment over the past 14 years,” said Neil Herbkersman, Sinclair Director of Advancement, Office of Grants Development.

Some other examples of the effective use of Compression Planning (CP) include:

· The inventors of the world’s first electric car system used CP as their team planning system. Program manager Jim Ellis said “without CP the new technology would never have gotten wheels on the road.”
· A new mill was losing more than $1 million per week, hemorrhaging cash and threatened to bury the entire company. A young manager took over and brought McNellis in his first week on the job. Two weeks later the mill stopped bleeding and within months became the most profitable mill in the company.
· A pending bankruptcy threatened the closure of a school. Key leaders were demoralized because a previous effort spent 90 days raising a measly $20,000. Compression Planning led to the building of a new team that spent $900 and raised $640,000 in three hours.
