DAYTON, Ohio (05/19/10) – Sinclair Community College has announced the winners of the 2010 Creative Writing Contest. Winners will be recognized at a banquet held at Sinclair next Tuesday.
Sponsored by Sinclair's English department, the Creative Writing Contest is open to writers who have received no payment for published manuscripts.&nbs p;There are four categories including adult fiction, adult non-fiction, adult poetry, and high school.
Each prize winner will receive a certificate as well as a cash prize. In addition, the Antioch Writers’ Workshop is contributing substantially providing each of the 13 winners admittance to Antioch’s Saturday Seminar on July 10 (a $125 value.) Finally, Jessica Kubusch, the best-in-show winner, will receive a scholarship to the full Antioch Writers’ Workshop covering registration and tuition for the full week seminar (a $610 value).
The banquet honoring all winners will be held at Sinclair Community College on Tuesday, May 25, from 6:00-9:00 pm in the Charity B. Earley Auditorium on the first floor of Building 12, Room 172. Spectrum Award winners and Paul Laurence Dunbar winners will be honored then as well.
