Student Services at Sinclair Gets New Director

Dayton, OH - Sinclair Community College recently hired Scott Markland to serve as senior director of student and academic support services. Markland has more than 13 years of experience working within the student affairs arena at both public and private universities.

His most recent position, as Assistant Dean of Student Development at the University of Dayton, provided a strong background in collaborating with instruction and developing programs and services to help students achieve their educational goals.

Markland will be responsible for providing the leadership, transformation, and strategic direction for strengthening the bridge for students between academics and student life.  He will be charged with assessing, strengthening, and developing programs and services that ensure that Sinclair students are equipped with the appropriate resources to succeed and are retained to meet their goals.
