Dayton, OH- The English department at Sinclair Community College will hold its 35th annual Writers’ Workshop Friday, April 24.

The Writers’ Workshop will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Registration will begin at 11 a.m. on the first floor of the Sinclair Conference Center, Building 12.

Jim Daniels, the Thomas Stockham Baker Professor of English at Carnegie Mellon University and a prominent figure in working-class poetry in the United States, is the keynote speaker for the event.

Participants will have the opportunity to attend any two of the following workshops hosted by the following presenters:

· Jim Daniels: The Poet’s Response
· David Lee Garrison: Writing Poetry
· Judy Johnson: Editing Your Work for Publication
· Rebecca Morean: Awaking the Writer Within

The workshop will conclude with a reception for participants to network with workshop presenters and other writers.

The registration fee is $25 for the general public. Senior citizens, as well as Sinclair students, faculty and staff, may attend free of charge. Parking passes for the underground parking garage beneath Building 12 are available for $2 in the Office of Corporate and Community Services, Room 101, in Building 12.
