Basketball Wins on the Road 121-62

Dayton, OH – Sinclair Men's basketball team took to the road for the first time this season as they traveled to West Virginia as they battled West Virginia University-Parkersburg Saturday afternoon.

Sinclair got off to a slow shooting start as they were only able to convert on 1-8 from behind the 3pt arc and had a lack of focus from the free throw line going 4 for 12 for a dismal 33.3%. Even though the Riverhawks had a couple of starters out due to injuries, they played with great heart throughout the first half as they kept hitting big shots. With about 8 minutes left in the first half, WVU-Parkersburg drained one of their 5 first half 3's to pull even with the Pride at 24-24.

Sinclair's size and bench depth was too much for the Riverhawks to eventually overcome as the Pride outscored WVU-P 37-11 in the last 8 minutes to take a 61-35 lead into half.

Sinclair started the 2nd half much better as the Pride turned up the energy and outscored the Riverhawks 14-4 in the first 5 minutes to go up 75-39. Firmly in control at the 10 minute mark, the Pride pushed the lead out to 90-48 in route to the Pride's first road victory of the year and a final score of 121-62.

Sinclair was lead by a pair of Freshman that posted double-doubles. JaBriel Coaston (6-5/Cincinnati – Roger Bacon H.S.) had a game high 29 points 11 rebounds and Adam Westbeld (6-7/Kettering – Fairmont H.S.) posted 14 points and a game high 15 rebounds.

Sinclair will return home on Wednesday November 16, a doubleheader with the Sinclair Women's team as both take on Miami University – Middletown.

The Women will tip at 5:30 and the Men at 7:30pm, all games are played in Building 8 on the Downtown Dayton Campus.
