Sinclair Hosts Citywide Kwanzaa Celebration

DAYTON, Ohio (12/17/09) – Sinclair Community College’s Cultural Diversity Committee, African American Studies program and the ABLE Youth Leadership Institute will host the 8th Annual Citywide Kwanzaa Celebration and Games Workshop on Wednesday, December 30, 2009.

Dr. Yvonne Seon, internationally acclaimed educator and writer, will host a Games Workshop from 4:00-5:00 p.m. highlighting her latest work, "Totem Games: Poems in Search of African Identity."

The Kwanzaa Celebration, from 5:30-9:00 p.m., will feature entertainment by Kaipai African drummers and dancers from Columbus and the East Wind reggae band from Cincinnati. Sinclair students will debut a Kwanzaa trivia game. Kwanzaa vendors and crafts will also be on hand.

Events will be held in the Sinclair Leadership Center, Building 8. Admission is free to the public, and dinner will be provided and donations are welcomed.
