Upward Bound Coordinator Wins Award
Chris Welch received the coveted Ohio TRIO, Louis M. Brownlowe New Professional Award for a TRIO professional. This award is presented to an individual amongst the 79 Ohio TRIO programs that demonstrates exemplary service to the mission of TRIO programs and has between one and five years of professional work in TRIO.
Chris has served as an academic advisor and coordinator for the Upward Bound program since 2005. His work includes the coordination of Upward Bound’s African American Male Initiative Program), the only TRIO AAMI in the State of Ohio; Chairman, TRIO Achievers; and Executive Board duties for Mid-America Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (MAEOPP).
