Jack Giambrone of Sinclair has been named The 2012 Ohio Community College Athletic Conference Athletic Director of the Year. Giambrone, who serves as the conference’s Assistant Commissioner, was instrumental in developing the conference’s Code of Conduct, website redesign and possible conference expansion.

Sinclair finished third in The All-Sports race with a conference championship in Men’s Baseball, two third-place finishes in Women’s Volleyball and Women’s Basketball and a sixth place finish in Men’s Basketball. Sinclair also had a record three teams selected as National Junior College Athletic Association All-American teams with a GPA of 3.0 or greater. Those teams were Baseball, Volleyball and Women’s Basketball. The athletic teams at the school also contributed thousands of hours to local community organizations and initiatives.

Giambrone was also very instrumental with the resurgence of the women’s softball program that will begin in the Fall after a 20-year absence. "This is a tribute to our outstanding faculty who work with our kids every day, our coaches who are great teachers, our administrators and certainly all of our student athletes," said Giambrone.

This is Giambrone’s second selection as top Athletic Director, having won the honor in 2010.
