BIOSCIENCE MANUFACTURING PROGRAM
We are currently taking applications for the class beginning May 20, 2013. For more information, please click here to register or contact Brenda Latanza at brenda.latanza@sinclair.edu or (513) 339-1212 ext. 6.
We have trained more than 150 students over the last three years in our short-term training program designed to upgrade the skills of displaced or underemployed workers. In addition, we have trained incumbent workers, building upon existing skills and enabling them to have the opportunity to move into higher level jobs with their employer.
This bioscience short-term training program is being offered by Sinclair's Workforce Development Division at our new location in Mason, 7264 Columbia Road in Columbia Commons (just south of Kings Island). As beneficiaries of a U.S. Department of Labor and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grant with BioOhio as lead, we have worked closely with regional pharmaceutical and medical device companies to develop a relevant curriculum.
The seven week bioscience curriculum focuses on positions such as development operators, manufacturing technicians, CNC operators, quality technicians, and laboratory and research assistants. The program's advisory companies indicate that these are positions in which they face critical shortages.
