Off Campus Access

How to Access Research Databases from Off Campus:

 

Registered students of Sinclair must have use a Sinclair ID (9 digit Tartan card number) to access any research databases from off campus.

 

1. Click on Articles on the left column.

 

2. Select Magazine and Journal Databases or select one of the subject lists in the middle of the Articles page.  Click on the "off campus" link next to the name of the database you want to use.

 

3. Select a school on the Institution Selection Form by clicking on the down arrow to highlight Sinclair Community College, and then click Submit.

 

4. On the OhioLINK Authentication Form, enter your name (last name, space, first name) and Sinclair ID number (all 9 digits) from your Tartan Card, and then click Submit.

 

5. You should then see a message that says "Authentication successful".  Authentication is good for 2 hours. If you have problems accessing the databases, please contact a Reference Librarian (see Contact Information below).

 

6. Go to http://www.ohiolink.edu/about/api-faq.html for answers to frequently asked questions about this service.

Note for America Online users: 

 

You may use AOL for Internet access but AOL Netscape is not compatible with OhioLINK research databases. Once you are connected to the Internet you may minimize the AOL browser and use one of the browsers listed above to search OhioLINK databases.
