It All Adds Up… Math at Sinclair Solves the Equation!

Sinclair Community College’s Mathematics department offers an associate degree program emphasizing the field. Studying through creative, consistent and logical thought is a method that aids in all aspects of human understanding—and one of the best approaches to achieve this way of thinking is through mathematics.

In addition to improving your ability to think clearly, you will also learn about the many astounding mathematical discoveries that have been made and how they can be used for practical applications in science, engineering, business and the health fields.

This program might be for you if:

  • You are interested in the study of mathematics.
  • You like to solve problems and put together puzzles.
  • You would like to explore mathematical history and theories.
  • You enjoy working with or playing games that involve numbers and logic.

Our programs are not only for those individuals interested in earning a degree in mathematics. Many students interested in pursuing other areas, including science, healthcare, engineering, and more—take additional math classes to add value and further experience to their other programs. Our experienced and capable faculty are fully devoted to teaching you mathematics.

Through our program, you will not only be well prepared with the technical knowledge you need for your chosen career or field of study, but also with an enhanced ability to think more clearly, deeply, rigorously, analytically, and precisely about yourself and everything you encounter.

Certificate Programs

No Certificates Currently Offered

Even though there are no certificate programs currently being offered, there are still options if you would like to learn more about the study of mathematics. If you would just like to learn more about the program by taking a few classes or even find out what classes you could take to supplement another program or your current career path, academic advisors can assist you in finding the classes right for you.

Degree Programs

Associate of Science - LIBERAL ARTS & SCIENCES: MATHEMATICS EMPHASIS

The Associate of Arts degree program in Liberal Arts Sciences is designed for students who are planning to transfer to a four-year college or university and pursue baccalaureate degree programs such as Education, English, Geography, History, Modern Languages, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, etc. The curriculum fulfills the freshman and sophomore general education requirements of most four-year colleges and universities. In addition, this degree will fulfill the requirements for the Ohio Transfer Module at other Ohio public colleges and universities.

Articulation & Transfer Agreements

Sinclair works directly with many four-year schools in Ohio and beyond to ensure the college credit you earn will transfer easily to those schools. By developing articulation agreements, formal agreements between colleges detailing the recognition of college credit between the schools, you will know you are meeting the requirements needed at the four-year school of your choice. Ohio Transfer Module

The Associate of Arts and the Associate of Science degree programs fulfill the requirements for the Ohio Transfer Module at other public colleges and universities. Students in applied associate degree programs may complete some individual transfer module courses within their degree program or continue beyond their program to complete the entire transfer module.

Upon completion of the Ohio Transfer Module, students will be able to enter most Ohio four-year colleges and universities as a junior with your general education requirements completed. Find out more about the Ohio Transfer Module »
