Disability and Counseling Services is offering a seminar on opiate abuse and recovery. The first hour will offer an educational overview of opiate addiction and recovery presented by an ADAMHS speaker. They will address statistics, effect on the community, causes, risk factors, overdoses and treatment. Then we will highlight the very personal as well as broad impact of this epidemic with a panel consisting of a Sinclair student in recovery as well as a parent of an adult daughter in recovery. They will share their “stories” in the second hour followed by a Q/A time.
