A week of events and activities to celebrate and increase awareness of the world beyond Sinclair. 

Monday, November 13

12 Noon – 1:30 P.M.

International Student Recognition Event and Celebration

Location: Library, Upper Level, Loggia

Join us to kick-off International Education/Geography Awareness Week. An international student will speak about experiences in the U.S. and a campus speaker will talk about the importance of diversity and multiculturalism at Sinclair. All international students will be recognized at the event. Hosted by the International Education Office.

Arranged Marriage in India

Location: Building 2334 [Green Room]

Guest Speaker: Jay Patel is a Sinclair Community College student and he will share with us his experiences with living in an arranged marriage. Lead by Kathy Rowell, Ph.D., Professor of Sociology.

Tuesday, November 14

2 – 4 P.M. 

Movie Series: Two Blue Lines

Location: Building 2334 [Green Room]

Shot over a period of 25 years, Two Blue Lines examines the human and political situation of Palestinian people from the years prior to the creation of Israel to the present day. By primarily featuring the narratives of Israelis whose positions run counter to their country’s official policy, the documentary provides a portrait of the ongoing conflict not often depicted in mainstream media. (98 mins., video) Led by Mohsen Khani, Professor of Geography
