FAQ's my.sinclair (Sinclair's Portal)

Who has a Portal (my.sinclair account)?
All Sinclair Faculty, Staff and Students have access to the Portal. Login to my.sinclair.edu for a listing of specific services for your affiliation.

What will a my.sinclair account do for me?
The Sinclair Web Portal, my.sinclair.edu, is a one-stop access point to Sinclair resources and services. The Portal will give access to Web Advisor, online registration services, and Web Email.

How do I get an my.sinclair account?
A new student will gain access to the Portal system upon his/her first registration for courses at Sinclair Community College. Access will be available the next day following the student's registration.

How do I login to my.sinclair?
Login to the Portal at http://my.sinclair.edu You will login by a user name and password that has been automaticaly setup. User Name: Your usernames will be firstname.lastname. In case of duplicates, a number will be appended to the username. Maximum username length is 20 characters so the end result will be truncated if necessary. Passwords: Portal - Password will be pass and last four digits of your SSN. This will not be changeable. (Example: pass1234)

How do I customize the "my.Sinclair" portal page?
In addition to changing some of the colors on your page, you can also add optional modules to your "my.Sinclair" page, depending upon your role at Sinclair (student, faculty, or staff). Follow the instructions available to add optional modules. To change the look of your "my.Sinclair" page, follow the instructions below: Change the colors of your "my.Sinclair" page by: Click the "Layout" button in the upper right-hand corner of the "my.Sinclair" page Select the page colors by selecting the radio button next to the theme you prefer. Click "Submit" and the new colors will take effect. Change the position of the content modules on your "my.Sinclair" page by: Click the "Layout" button in the upper right-hand corner of the "my.Sinclair" page To move modules from the Left Panel to the Right Panel or Right to Left, select the module name and the arrow pointing in the direction you wish to move the module. To change the position of the module (i.e. list first, second, etc.), select the module name and click either the up or down arrow to the right of the panel screen. To remove options modules (modules that do not have an * next to their name), select the module name and click the delete icon (white circle with a red X)

What do I do if I forget my username?
Go to the login page for the Portal at my.sinclair. Click on the link at the bottom left hand corner of the screen that says "Don't know or forgot your user ID" and follow instructions.

What is my Portal password?
Your portal account password is the word "pass" in lowercase, plus the last 4 digits of your social security number (Example: pass1234).
