Administrative Systems is responsible for software design, development, maintenance, and overall architecture of the institutional business systems to help create the vision that defines the direction required to ensure administrative systems continue to meet the growing needs of the college.

The Sinclair Community College Archives is the official repository for records of historical value, which trace the origins, organization, policies, operations, history, and development of Sinclair Community College.

The Office of Budget and Analysis supports the Vice President for Business Operations and Chief Financial Officer in effectively managing the budgetary resources of Sinclair Community College. Working closely with academic and administrative units, the Office of Budget and Analysis coordinates the annual planning and budgeting process, prepares long-term financial projections, and provides detailed financial analyses including cost/benefit analysis, data trend analysis, and forecasting for internal use and external agencies.

The span of control for Business Services includes: Central Duplicating, Food Service, Mail Center, Parking, Purchasing, and bookstore. Much of the College's legal processes, property acquisition, liability avoidance, and general business activity are either passed through or originated by this office.

The College Relations Office is responsible for information services to College personnel and the general public for institutional advancement.

Database Administration & Business Intelligence is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and overall architecture of institutional databases, data warehouses, and tools for business intelligence.

The Grants Office strategically pursues external funding opportunities to advance Sinclair's Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan.

It is the mission of the Sinclair Community College Human Resources Department to pro-actively provide comprehensive human resources services including: employment, compensation and benefits, employee relations, learning and development, and other services to our customers in a timely, caring, and respectful manner.

Information Technology Services Department consists of five sections: Technical Services, Systems & Network Administration, Network Operations Center, Multimedia Services and Help Desk & IT Labs plus the Chief Information Security Officer, a Voice Telecommunications Administrator and a Policy & Procedure Specialist.

Instructional Development Support is dedicated to the promotion, support, and growth of technology use within the college community.


Learning Technology Productions works with Sinclair faculty and staff to design and develop video, audio, multimedia, presentation and web products that enhance and improve learner-centered courses.

Multimedia Services provides technical support for desktop and classroom videoconferencing, conference center and campus events and for other multimedia systems and classrooms for all Sinclair campuses.

The Network Operations Center (N.O.C.) is responsible for monitoring, alerting, and acting upon incidents that may potentially impact infrastructure, application, and business process availability and performance.

The college Publications department of the college Marketing Group, is under the direction of the Administrator of Publications. The department is responsible for the implementation of the college marketing policy.

The primary goal of all purchasing activities at the College is to acquire goods and services for Sinclair Community College within statutory, regulatory and procedural guidance in an efficient and effective manner at a fair and reasonable cost with timely delivery and proper performance. As a "custodian of public monies", the operating premise of the Purchasing Department is: integrity and professionalism.

Records Management’s Mission: A sound records management program provides an effective means of controlling the growth and availability of business records by systematically managing their creation, use, maintenance, retention, and disposal. Retaining unneeded records in file cabinets, disks, hard drives, and storage areas is inefficient use of space. The college’s office space is valuable and should be used efficiently and effectively. Research, Analytics and Reporting (RAR) is the official source of all institutional data related to enrollment matters. In that capacity, the department handles the majority of external reports required by regulatory bodies as well as information requests from a wide variety of other organizations.

For over thirty years, the Staff Development and Innovation Committee (SDIC), composed of representatives from all employee categories, has been the vehicle for planning professional development activities.

The Off Campus Regional Map web site provides information to students and instructors about off campus satellite locations. Information includes driving directions, building maps, class schedules, and computer lab information with pictures.

The department of Space Analysis (SA) was created to provide decision-support for issues regarding Sinclair’s physical spaces. A primary goal is to help Sinclair make the best, most efficient use of space.

Systems & Network Administration is responsible for the network infrastructure and server administration and workstation image maintenance.

The Systems Development & Maintenance Department is made up of the Administrative Systems and Web Systems units. Administrative Systems is responsible for maintaining the enterprise software that is used to support the student services and business offices of the college. Web systems manages Sinclair's web sites, which include the Internet, Intranet, and Portal, plus the Angel online learning management system. In addition, Web Systems develops web-based, custom applications to support essential college processes. Examples of these custom applications include the Curriculum Management Tool and the Student Success Plan.

Technical Services is responsible for desktop computer support to all on-campus labs, administrative offices, and off-campus distance learning labs.

To reduce crime and ensure members of the campus community are as safe and secure as possible, the Sinclair Police Department employs 22 full-time and 2 part-time sworn professional police officers.

The Sinclair Honors Program is designed to meet the needs of academically superior students who seek intellectual challenge and are willing to assume more responsibility for the learning experience. The aim of the program is to identify, stimulate and recognize Sinclair's best students. Honors courses cultivate critical thinking skills, encourage individual inquiry, and demand quality performance and responsibility.
