Sinclair (13-1/1-0) Men’s Basketball wins Conference Opener (9-6/0-1) 95-64

Elyria, OH – Sinclair Men’s Basketball team opened the OCCAC season with a 95-64 road win at Lorain Co. C.C.

Sinclair opened the 2009-10 Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) season with an impressive road win at Lorain Co. C.C. on Saturday 95-64. Celebrating a new calendar year, the Pride started 2010 with its 11 straight win this season of which 8 of them have come on the road. Once again the Pride had all 11 players score and 10 players seeing double figure minutes. The Pride played well in the first half offensively shooting 56% from the field and 67% from the 3 point line, as the Pride took a 49-30 lead into halftime. Another strong defensive game for the Pride as they held the home team to 31% shooting from the field and 22% from the 3pt line. Freshman Guard DeAngalo Gates (6-1/ Thurgood Marshall H.S.) scored a game high 24 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to pace all scorers. Sophomore Forward Jason Clardy (6-7/Indianapolis, IN) posted another double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Putting together another solid season for the Pride is Sophomore Guard Kevin Vest (6-1/Carroll H.S.) that chipped in with 12 points 9 rebounds 7 steals and 3 assist. Returning 2008 OCCAC Newcomer of the Year, Sophomore British Alexander (6-6/Trotwood-Madison H.S.) played well with 7 rebounds 4 points and 5 blocks.

The Sinclair Men’s team will return to action Tuesday the 5th of January (7:30pm) to take on Southern State C.C. on the road.
