DAYTON, Ohio (01/04/10) -- Sinclair Community College will present "Antigone" by Sophocles, translated by E.H. Plumptre on February 19-27, 2010, in Blair Hall Theatre, Building 2 on the Sinclair campus. Ohio Professor of the Year, Sinclair Music Professor John Parcell, has written original music for the performance.

Directed by Dr. Robert MacClennan, Prof. Emeritus Antigone is the classic Greek story of the daughter of Oedipus the King and her journey of love and loss. She seeks a respectable burial for her brother and finds herself at odds with Creon, the new ruler of Thebes. Despite banishment and imprisonment, Antigone maintains her stance against the immorality of Creon’s actions.

Regular admission is $12, $9 for senior citizens, and $7 for students and Sinc lair employees. Tickets are available online at sinclair.edu by choosing "Buy Theatre Tickets" from the QuickLinks menu. ALL Thursday tickets cost an additional $5 for pre-show appetizers in the lobby at 6:00 p.m.

Tickets are also available by calling the Sinclair box office at (937) 512-2808. The box office is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning February 12 and one hour prior to performances.
