2009 Midsummer Fest Adds to List of Performers and Sponsors
Dayton, OH- Sinclair's first annual Midsummer Fest has added to its list of performers and sponsors. The event, scheduled for Friday, June 19, is free and open to the public.
In addition to Sinclair's own LIFE Choir, Midsummer Fest will feature the Mason Community Players, the Kings High School Kokorodza Marimba Ensemble, the Mason High School Comet Skippers and performers from the 2008 Ohio Renaissance Festival. Also on the roster for the night's performances is local favorite band, Live! From Cincinnati.
Midsummer Fest is a festival of music, art and science wizardry. The event will also include an art activity area for kids and adults sponsored by the Mason Area Arts Council. Activities include creations like bubble wands, fanciful tiaras and wands.
"This event is a great opportunity for Sinclair to give back to the community in Warren County," said George Sehi, executive dean of the Courseview Campus Center.
The science wizardry at the fest will come in the form of a portable tornado, a flight simulator, calculator-controlled robot displays, solar telescopes and a full-size race car.
Organizers are excited to have several local businesses sponsor the event. Sponsors include:
West Chester Medical Center
Warren County Foundation
Atrium Medical Center
City of Mason
Representatives from Courseview's five university partners will be on hand to share information about their programs, including Miami University, University of Dayton, University of Cincinnati, Wright State University and Wilmington College.
Midsummer Fest is scheduled from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, June 19. The event is free and open to the public. Food and drinks will be available.
