Winter Renaissance Coming to Downtown Dayton

Dayton, OH- Sinclair Community College features three of its choral ensembles in concert Sunday, March 15.  Winter Renaissance: Early Choral Music of the Renaissance and Baroque Eras showcases Sinclair’s Chamber Choir, Chorale and Women’s Ensemble. Nolan Long, an assistant professor of music, directs all of the groups.

The performances will include selections by Josquin des Prez, Giovanni da Palestrina and Giacomo Carissimi, as well as other compositions.

The concert begins at 4 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church at West Fifth and Ludlow streets in downtown Dayton. Admission and parking for the public concert are free.

Professor Long is in his sixth year of teaching at Sinclair and his 26th year of teaching in higher education. He teaches private voice, sight singing for singers and voice class, as well as directing the SCC Chorale, Women’s Ensemble and Chamber Choir. Long presently serves the Liberal Arts, Communication and Social Sciences division as Faculty Senator.
