The Pride used two complete game pitching performances to win both games against Lakeland today. Making his second start of the season Billy Kitchen was dealing early and often. Kitch only allowed three hits all game while striking out eight. However, Kitchen was victimized by two deep balls totaling four runs. Heading into the bottom of the sixth inning tied 4-4, Clay Ragland led off with a base hit to right. After a Dan Marsh sacrifice bunt, John Lydic singled in Ragland to take the lead for good.  Final score: SCC 5 LCC 4. Top offensive performers: Clay Ragland 2-2 2RS 2SB 2BB, Blaine Reese 2-3 SB 2RBIs.

In game two Zach Botjer answered Kitchen's outing with a gem of his own. Botjer struck out a career high eleven, while only allowing two runs on three hits to earn his first collegiate win. Final score: SCC 9 LCC 2. Top offensive performers: Dan Marsh 4-4 3RS 2B 2RBI's, Ricky Masson 2-3 RBI.

With the weekend sweep, the Pride are now 28-10 on the season and 10-2 in the OCCAC. The Pride will await the results on Tuesday to find out who their first conference tournament opponent will be.
