Sinclair Dean on DBJ Health Panel

The Dayton Business Journal sponsored a forum this morning on the Business of Health – WORKFORCE at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.  The panel discussion was moderated by Caleb Stephens, DBJ Managing Editor .  Presenting sponsor was Premier Health Partners, operators of Miami Valley Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, Atrium Medical Center, and Upper Valley Medical Center.  Participants on the panel included:

Dr. Keith Bricking, Associate Medical Director and Medical Education Director, Miami Valley Hospital
Dr. Dave Collins, Dean of Life and Health Sciences, Sinclair Community College
Leslie Hoying-Kantner, RN, BSN, Nurse Recruiter, The Children’s Medical Center of Dayton
Stacey Lawson, Human Resources Director, Good Samaritan Hospital 
 
Topics ranged from nurse and medical specialties recruitment and retention, the culture and environment of Dayton and its medical employers, clinical training, and competitive pay.

“We all work in putting out qualified, competent nurses and medical professionals because we all will be the consumers of that care,” stated Dr. Collins.

About 50 people attended the 90-minute session, one of a series of business forums sponsored by the Dayton Business Journal.
