Men's Baseball wins 8-5 in the snow.
Dayton, OH – Sinclair (7-0) Men’s Baseball beat the visiting University of Northwestern Ohio 8-5 Thursday in a typical early spring non-conference matchup that featured light snow .
Freshmen Jared Bourelle (0-0)(Parkway H.S./ Willshire, OH) made his first start of the season Thursday, going 3 innings and only giving up 1 earned run. With the game time temperature around 35 degrees, Bourelle scattered five hits over three innings and left the game with a comfortable 6-1 lead.
Northwestern Ohio would battle back in the top of the 4th inning plating 4 runs cutting the lead down to 1. The visitors would have tied the game if not for a base running mistake, the tying run tripped on his way to home plate thus ending the inning and the rally.
Sinclair would take control of the game by scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th and pushing the lead back up to the final margin of 8-5. Freshmen Ian Creager (1-0) (Northmont H.S./Englewood, OH) earned his first win by pitching three scoreless innings in relief as the game was shortened to 7 innings due to weather.
