The Pride finished the regular season with a 20-9 overall record, which included being ranked as high as 13th in the top 20 of the NJCAA Division II polls. The Pride has averaged more than 21 wins per season the last four years (a 71% winning percentage), while earning a Regular Season OCCAC title (2007–08) and advancing to the NJCAA Region XII finals that year.
During this same time frame, the Pride faced off in post-season competition with two of the teams that advanced to the NJCAA Division II National Championship game. Sinclair keeps knocking on the door, winning close games and playing a very exciting brand of basketball.
Like every other Junior College program, youth plays a major role in the makeup of every roster. This year's Pride team has a good mix of youth and experience. Young and eager to learn, Sinclair will grind its way through some growing pains and a challenging non-conference schedule as they eye the start of conference play on January 14th, 2012.
Adding to an already strong OCCAC schedule, the Pride has added an away game against the University of North Carolina JV team in the Dean Smith Center. Perennial NJCAA power and winners of three of the last nine national championships, Mott C.C. (Flint, MI) will come to town on November 19th with Sinclair returning for a game in Flint on December 3rd.
So come out and enjoy college-level basketball! Enjoy the season!
