Pride Volleyball Spikes Lorain County Community College in Dig for a Cure Game

October 17, 2009

Dayton, OH – A battling Sinclair Women’s Volleyball Team clad in pink uniforms, to honor those battling breast cancer, played an inspired match in front of a season record crowd at Sinclair's Physical Activates Center. The Tartan Pride would win game one 25-23, drop game two 26-24, come back and take games three 28-26, and four 25-17 to close out the match.

Jessica McCann was honored between games for her outstanding performance in the classroom and presented her Distinguished Academic All-American Plaque. McCann also led the Nation in digs in her second year with The Tartan Pride. To be recognized by The National Junior College Athletic Association, NJCAA as a Distinguished Academic All-American, the candidate must achieve a GPA of 3.7 or above.

Today's Dig for a Cure Game raised over $500 and will be donated to the local cancer society on behalf of the The Sinclair Women's Volleyball Team.

Sinclair will return to home action on Friday, October 23 at 6:00 PM as they take on Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) foe Cuyahoga CC on the campus of Sinclair, Building 8 in The Physical Activities Center. Gates and Concessions open at 5 PM.
