Dayton, OH – Sinclair Women’s Volleyball opened the 2011 OCCAC home conference season Friday night with a convincing 3-1 win over Lorain County CC (0-2/0-2).
In the home opener of the 2011 season, the Pride handled a much improved Lorain County CC 3-1 to even the conference record to 1-1. Lorain County came ready to play matching Sinclair’s intensity in game one only to lose a close game 25-20. Game two the Pride completely dominated the play on both sides of the net and cruised to an easy 25-13 win. Game three Lorain found some momentum by keeping the game close and taking advantage of some late long rally quality point to pull out a 25-23 and extend the match. Sinclair was in control early ready to end the match, when Lorain made one final inspired comeback by getting to every free ball only to lose 21-25.
Coming into tonight’s match, Sinclair had three ladies earning top NJCAA rankings for stats. Abigail Schlater (SO/Tri-County North H.S.) ranked #10 this week in Kills per Set with 3.54 posted 23 kills and 22 digs. Desiree Brown (SO/Tri-County North H.S.) ranked #15 this week in Digs per Set with 5.08 and Rebecca Ayers (SO/Eaton H.S.) also ranked #31 this week in Assist per Set with 7.22 collected a game high 28 assist.

Sinclair (1-9/0-1) will host OCCAC Power and 9th ranked Owens Express on Saturday (1:30pm).
