Basketball Takes local Sports Legends Tour

Two weeks into the new academic year, the Men’s Basketball team has already started laying ground work for a very successful season both on and off the court.

The Player Enhancement Program (PEP) was designed to assist and enrich the educational experience of the Men’s Basketball program. Activities such as community service, guest speakers, tutorial services and off campus tours are all components of the PEP.

Friday members of the Tartan Pride Men’s Basketball team as well as invited guest toured Dayton’s Woodland Cemetery on a Sports Legends Tour guided by Sinclair’s Athletic Academic Adviser Pat Jayson (PJ). Joining the tour as a special guest, the Master Storyteller Tom Archdeacon accompanied PJ and brought an insight and connectivity to many of the figures at Woodlawn.

The Sports Legends Tour was guided by UD Hall of Famer Pat Jayson and Dayton Daily News award winning columnist Tom Archdeacon.
Invited Sinclair guest included; Dean Dave Collins, Professor Norma Dycus, Professor Nila Peavy and long time Sinclair supporter Kayann Legg.

“I have been overwhelmed with number of individuals that volunteer their time to come in and speak with our Student/Athletes,” said Coach Price. Sinclair will continue to have monthly speakers throughout the rest of the year in addition to several off campus educational tour and community service projects.
