Pride Battles to 82-78 Road Victory

Dayton, OH – Sinclair (11-3/0-0) Men’s Basketball returned to action Wednesday night as they traveled down to Chillicothe to take on the Hilltoppers of Ohio University-Chillicothe.

Sinclair took an early lead as both teams struggled trying to shake off the rust from a week long layoff from the holiday break.  After leading by as much as 12 in the first half, the Pride held onto a slim 37-35 lead going into halftime.

The second half saw both teams get back into some type of flow as the game stayed close.  As the game stayed close during the second half, the Pride knocked down 16 of 20 free throws on their way to posting a 4 point victory (82-78).

Sinclair had another balanced attack as the Pride had five double figure scorers. Leading the way with another double-double, Darrien Wilkins (6-5/Cincinnati Princeton H.S.) with 22 points and 11 rebounds.  Joining Darrien in double figure scoring; Jonathan Bibbs (6-4/Dayton Chaminade Julienne H.S.) with 14 points, Mark Allen (6-4/Cincinnati Northwest H.S.) with 11 points, Austen Alabata (6-8/Toledo Scott H.S.) and Josef Marshall (6-3/Trotwood Madison H.S.) both with 10 points respectively.

The Pride will finish their non-conference schedule with two home games the first week of January as Southern State comes in on Monday the 3rd and West Virginia Northern on Wednesday the 5th.  All home games are played on the Downtown Dayton campus in Building 8.
