Game 1
The 2011 edition of the Sinclair/Owens rivalry started off great for the Pride. In the bottom of the 2nd, the Pride scored first with a two-out double off the wall from Brandon Branigan scoring Joe Ford and Chas Harper. Owens would answer in a big way though in the top of the 3rd off Jeremiah Kerns. A leadoff walk started things and after a strikeout looking, the number nine batter Austin Gunn singled to turn the lineup over. Gunn would give the Pride pitchers trouble all day reaching base in every AB. Kerns struck out Solomon but with two-outs gave up a three run jack to second basemen Joe Sickler that gave Owens the lead. The Express would score two more unearned runs in the inning after a dropped fly ball in right. Trailing 5-2, Sinclair scored one in the 3rd to cut the lead to two. That score would remain until the bats exploded in the 4th for six runs. The inning was highlighted by a Marcus Heath triple that plated two (he also scored on an error) and a Brandon Napier two-run blast, all with two outs. Napier homered again in the 6th to secure the victory.

Final Score: Sinclair 11 Owens 6

Offensive Leaders: Marcus Heath 3-4 2 RS 3B 2 RBI's, Brandon Napier 2-4 2 RS 2 HR's 5 RBI's, Joe Ford 1-2 2 RS, Brandon Branigan 2-2 RS 2B 2 RBI's.

Game 2
The second game of the DH would start like the first game. Sinclair scored two in the first taking the early lead again. Owens took advantage of starter Christian McElroy's early control problems and plated one in the 2nd and three more in the 4th. Heading into the top of the 6th inning, McElroy retired the leadoff hitter and got a flyball to centerfield that turned into a nightmare for the Pride. With the leftfielder and centerfielder breaking on the ball, poor communication led to a dropped fly ball that rolled to the fence scoring the batter. Owens starter Zak Esposito settled down after a rough 1st and was dominate for the next three innings. After getting out of a bases loaded jam in the 5th, he gave up two singles to Napier and Branigan in the bottom of the 6th and left the game with a 5-2 lead. A fielders choice gone bad and a error on the catcher plated two runs and leadoff hitter Steve Buglione stepped up to the plate with bases loaded and down by one. Buglione hit a groundball to 1st but Harper was out at the plate and still bases were loaded. Freshmen second basemen Joe Ford delivered the big RBI single up the middle to tie the game at five. Marcus Heath, who had a huge day, came through again for the Pride with a 2-RBI double to left. Austin Pressly came on in the 7th to record the final three outs and pick up his first save of the season.
