Co-Op Programs

The Office of Co-op Programs brought the magic of Disney to the Sinclair Community College campus. A representative of the Disney Theme Parks and Resorts College Program was recently at Sinclair to conduct two recruiting sessions for its college intern program. Disney's College and International Programs Recruiter Rebecca Whimore talked to approximately 30 students during an afternoon session in a Tartan Marketplace meeting room.

Terry Maiwurm, Sinclair’s Disney College Program Coordinator, said this is the sixteenth year the program has operated at the college. For 14 of those years, Disney representatives recruited for the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida. Now, Sinclair students are also actively recruited for the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.

On top of that they can earn college credits from a custom-designed learning curriculum and they have an opportunity to meet people from around the world and make lifelong friends.”

In its 16-year history, 368 Sinclair students have participated in the Disney College Program one or more times. For 30 of these program graduates it has actually led to full-time employment with Disney, although that is not the primary purpose of the internship program. Students interested in these opportunities can attend one of the upcoming information sessions for the program. Disney recruiters come to campus to host these sessions twice each year in the fall and spring.
