Lady Pride Drop to Owens

Dayton, OH –  Sinclair Women’s Tartan Pride basketball team hosted Owens College this afternoon at Sinclair’s Physical Activities Center. The Lady Pride coming off an impressive win over Cuyahoga knew they would have their work cut out for them as the #19 ranked team in the country rolled into town.

Sinclair had the lead cut to six with 2 minutes remaining in the first half only to see it grow to 10 with a turnover and a defensive breakdown. Owens held a ten point lead going into half, 43-33. 

In the second half, Sinclair went toe-to-toe with Owens but could overcome the ten point deficit as The Lady Pride lost to Owens 78-68.

Sinclair was led by Sophomores Shannon Campbell (Miamisburg) and Shelby Pettit (Brookville) with 19 and 17 points respectively.  Haleigh Hickenbottom (West Liberty) had 9 rebounds and Campbell added 8 boards.

Sinclair moves to 14-5 overall and 4-3 in conference play and third in the OCCAC standings. The Lady Pride will return to home action next Saturday, February 12 as they take on Columbus State in Sinclair’s Annual Pink Game for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Game time is 2:00 PM in Sinclair's Physical Activities Center located in Building 8 on the downtown campus.
