Training for all emergency responders, urban search and rescue teams, fire, law enforcement, and emergency medical services to (1) understand the role of rescue technician; (2) demonstrate basics of victim care; (3) understand principles of applied physics related to removal of victims; (4) demonstrate safety and survival techniques; and (5) demonstrate correct, safe, and effective state of the art rescue equipment. Students must be working in the field to qualify for this program.
Evaluate flammables and combustible liquids, solids, and gasses using appropriate scientific test equipment.
Understand the characteristics of hazardous materials to ensure safe handling, transporting, and storage as well as to deal effectively with spills and fires involving them.
Understand the role of a rescue technician
Understand basics of victim care including emergency care
Demonstrate correct, safe and effective use of state of the art rescue equipment
Understand the principals of physics related to victim rescue and removal
