ACADEMIC CENTERS

The Actors From the London Stage visited us again in February of 2009 to present Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare. While in residence, the five actors also provided workshops across campus in literature, writing, theatre, Spanish, art and communication classes as well as offering workshops to high school members of the Muse Machine. Despite the February snowstorms, nearly 900 attended the performances, including groups from Edison Community College, College for Lifelong Learning, Chaminade-Julienne and Centerville High Schools, and St. Christopher School.

Dayton City Paper hailed their return as “one of the most versatile professional Shakespearean acting troupes”. While the Dayton Daily News said “the classically-trained British quintet were more than up to the task” of performing Shakespeare’s romantic comedy with five actors portraying multiple characters.

When they visited in October of 2006, the Dayton City Paper called their visit the “Coup of the Year,” for its impact on Sinclair students and community members.
