Players of the Week
Each week throughout the season, a player on the Women's Basketball Team will be selected as Player of the Week.
Nov. 16 - Emily Frey
Freshman Emily Frey from Versailles HS was chosen as this week's Player of the Week. In the win against Cedarville she contributed 16 points and 7 rebounds. In the victory against Region XII opponent Mott, she had 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists while shooting 73% from the floor and 100% from the foul line.
Coach Dillon - "Emily has had a great start to her college career. Her performances have been solid and her shooting stellar. Her play is a big reason we have had such a great start."
Nov. 23 - Chelcie Gullett
Sophomore Chelcie Gullett from Xenia HS was this week's Player of the Week. She contributed 20 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals in the victory against Miami-Middletown. She shot 57% from the floor including being 4 of 8 from the 3-point line.
Coach Dillon - "Chelcie's play this week has been excellent. Her scoring and toughness defensively continues to help our team grow."
Nov. 30 - Haleigh Hickenbottom
Freshman Haleigh Hickenbottom from West Liberty Salem High School is this week's Player of the Week. In the victory against Clark St., Haleigh contributed 10 points and 5 rebounds while shooting 44% from the floor including 2 of 4 from the 3 point line.
Coach Dillon - "Haleigh is continuing to improve. She has had solid games for us. We look for her growth to continue as the team gets better."
Dec. 7 - Rachel Brun
This week's Player of the Week honor goes to Freshman Rachel Brun from Chaminade Julienne High School.
Coach Dillon - "Rachel is an excellent addition to our team! She does a lot of little things on the floor to make our team successful. She also had a perfect 4.0 in the classroom for the quarter."
Dec. 14 - Jessica Plummer
Freshman Jessica Plummer from Tipp City HS has been chosen as this week's Player of the Week. In the game against University of Dayton Club, she contributed 21 points and 4 steals while shooting 75% from the floor including being 3 of 3 for 3-point line. In the game against Ancilla, she had 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals.
Coach Dillon - "Jessica's play this week against UD and Ancilla was great. Her scoring helped her team earn 2 wins. Her defensive play continues to be outstanding."
Jan. 4 - Jana Gross
Sophomore Jana Gross from Bellbrook HS has been selected as this week's Player of the Week. In our opening OCCAC contest against Lorain County, Jana had 9 rebounds and 7 assists along with 3 points and 3 steals.
Coach Dillon - "Jana's leadership at our point guard spot has been a real key for our success. She makes everyone around her better every game."
Jan. 11 - Shelby Pettit
Freshman Shelby Pettit from Brookville HS is this week's Player of the Week. Against Lakeland, she had 8 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists while shooting 50% from the floor.
Coach Dillon - "Shelby has continued to improve as the season has progressed. We look forward to her continuing that improvement as we go along this season."
Jan. 18 - Shannon Campbell
Freshman Shannon Campbell from Miamisburg HS was chosen as this week's Player of the Week. For 2 games this week, she contributed 17 points, 11 rebounds, 6 steals, and 3 assists.
Coach Dillon - "Shannon has grown a lot as a player this year. Her efforts in our full court defenses make great things happen for our team."
Jan. 25 - Karen Smith
Freshman Karen Smith from Versailles HS has been selected as this week's Player of the Week. In 3 games this week, she recorded 31 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, and 14 steals. She was also 12 of 15 from the floor for 80%.
Coach Dillon - "Karen game in and game out gives all out effort! Her hustle and toughness make her a valuable asset to our team."
Feb. 1 - Jessica Plummer
This week's Player of the Week selection is Freshman Jessica Plummer from Tippecanoe High School.
Coach Dillon - "Jessica's defensive play is a constant from game to game. She has helped us tremendously throughout the season."
Feb. 8 - Shannon Campbell
Freshman Shannon Campbell was selected as this week's Player of the Week. She recorded 21 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals, and 3 assists against Columbus State. She shot 50% from the floor including 100% from the 3-point line and shot 83% from the free throw line.
Coach Dillon - "Shannon has stepped up for our team big time in the face of some key injuries. Her contributions offensively and defensively have been huge."
Feb. 15 - Karen Smith
This week's selection for Player of Week is Freshman Karen Smith. Coach Dillon - "Karen is the epitome of hustle. She goes hard every possession. Her hustle plays help us win games."
Feb. 22 - Jessica Myers
Sophomore Jessica Myers from Springfield South High School was selected as this week's player of the week. Coach Dillon - "Jess had a great game against Owens. Her defensive play helped us pull off a great win against #2 Owens."
