Coach’s Preview

  The 2009-2010 Sinclair Women's Basketball Program is set for a great year with 4 returning sophomores and 7 exciting talented freshmen.  Jana Gross is returning at the point guard position and is the NJCAA leader in assists.  Jessica Pierre from Tipp City and Jessica Myers from Springfield South are 2 returning post players with a great deal of experience as well as sharpshooting guard Chelcie Gullett from Xenia who was several times last year ranked in the nation in 3pt field goal percentage.

  Freshmen added to this year's squad are Emily Frey and Karen Smith from Versailles High School.  These two outstanding players are coming into our program from a State Semi-Final Team.  Jessica Plummer, a guard from Tipp City, will strengthen our guard corps as well as Shelby Pettit from Brookville High School.  Haleigh Hickenbottom from West Liberty Salem and Shannon Campbell from Miamisburg will strengthen our wing positions along with Chaminade Julienne grad Rachel Brun.

Coach Rochelle Meinking is returning for her 6th year as my assistant coach.  Her knowledge of the game of basketball and her guidance in handling academic and team community service projects are invaluable to our program.

As I start my 7th year at Sinclair, I have never been as excited about a group of student-athletes.  This team embodies the 3 C's our athletic department stands for.  They will be great in the classroom, great in the community, and great on the basketball court.  This will truly be a fun team to watch.  We invite you to come enjoy a great season of exciting basketball action with us.
