Head Coach

Jeff Price has been the Tartan Pride’s head coach since 2003. He is now in his 10th year at Sinclair and has 20+ years coaching at the collegiate level. The framework has been set for a solid educational foundation as well as the re-birth of a competitive NJCAA Division II Men’s Basketball program.

Coach Price emphasizes a well rounded experience for his athletes. Along with working hard in the class room and on the court, the Men’s Basketball Team has been actively involved with a number of community service projects. On Labor Day, team members and coaches made their annual personal appearance on the MDA Telethon and spent time answering phones for donations. Several other community service projects include: The Dayton Heart Walk, NABC Reading Program and Price’s Pride Saturday morning youth clinics.

Another program Coach Price has put into place is the PEP-Player Enhancement Program. The PEP offers additional study tables and tutors along with monthly guest speakers. This program is designed to aid in the development of Sinclair’s young student-athletes.

Price first joined the collegiate coaching fraternity during the 1991-92 seasons as the men’s assistant basketball coach for Davis & Elkins College. The following year, he added head golf coaching to his duties. Later, Price accepted the head coaching position as the Women’s Basketball Coach. Price also held several NCAA committee positions which included the position of Chairperson for NCAA Division II National Championship Selections for Men’s Golf from 1996-99. Coach Price also had a short stop as Assistant Coach at Earlham College for the 1999-2000 year.

During his coaching career, Coach Price has hosted his own basketball camps as well as being under contract with a number of high profile basketball camps such as University of Dayton, University of Michigan, Marshall University, University of Louisville, Central Michigan University and Wright State University.

In addition to his head coaching duties, Price has served as the Corporate Manager for Schear Family Practice from 2000 to 2009 and has held the position of Board of Trustees Member for the Brown Memorial Library in Preble County. Price continues his annual summer trek to the Walt Disney Company in Orlando Florida to work as a seasonal cast member in the Entertainment Department.

A native of Preble County, Price graduated from Twin Valley North H.S. and went on to graduate from Marshall University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Coach Price has  two sons, Michael and Kyle both of whom attended Marshall University.
