Season Preview

The Pride finished the regular season with a 20-9 overall record which included being ranked as high as 13th in the top 20 of the NJCAA Division II polls. The Pride has averaged over 21 wins the last four years and a 71% winning percentage, while earning a Regular Season OCCAC title (2007-08) as well as advancing to the NJCAA Region XII Finals in that same year (Round of 32).

During this same time frame, the Pride has faced off in Post-Season competition with two of the teams that have advanced to the NJCAA Division II National Championship game.  Sinclair keeps knocking on the door, winning close games and playing a very exciting brand of basketball.

Like every other Junior College program, youth plays a major role in the makeup of every roster.  This year’s Pride team has a good mix of youth and experience.  Young and eager to learn, Sinclair will grind its way through some growing pains of a challenging non-conference schedule as they eye the start of conference play on January 14th, 2012.

Adding to an already strong OCCAC schedule, we have added an away game against the University of North Carolina JV team played in the Dean Smith Center.  Perennial NJCAA power and winners of the 3 of the last 9 National Championships, Mott C.C. (Flint, MI) will come to town on November 19th with Sinclair returning the game in Flint on December 3rd.

The game of basketball is very exciting, and we will utilize all of our talents to play at a very high level of intensity.  So come out and enjoy college level basketball from floor level!  Enjoy the season!
