J1--au pair 

You may enroll at a U.S. university or college full or part time only as long as you continue to provide au pair services. 

J1--Exchange Visitor Student 

You may enroll at a U.S. university or college other than your home school only with permission from your R.O. (Responsible Officer).  Bring a letter from your R.O. verifying that you are in good J1 student status and have permission to enroll for one or two classes at Sinclair.  You may not enroll full time at Sinclair Community College. 

J1--Exchange Visitor Scholar/Researcher/Professor 

You may enroll at a U.S. university or college only part time.  Study must be related to your principal activity. 

J2--Dependents of J1 visa holders 

You may enroll at a U.S. university or college full time or part time. 
 

To apply, all J1 or J2 visa status holders must submit the following items to the Office of Registration & Student Records: 

valid passport

IAP-66 (pink form)

valid I-94 Arrival/Departure Card

          *valid through the last day of the term that you intend to enroll

If you wish to enroll in a class that has an English or mathematics prerequisite, you will need to 1) complete the   placement test in English or mathematics or 2) meet with an academic advisor with a copy of your university or college transcript that shows you have completed the prerequisite work at another school. 

Visitors to the United States on J1 or J2 visa status will be charged the out-of-state tuition rate of $145.00 per credit hour per credit hour. J1/J2 visa status holders do not hold dual intent and, therefore, cannot qualify for Ohio or Montgomery County tuition rates by Ohio Board of Regents and College policy.
