The Ohio Board of Regents, following the directive of the Ohio General Assembly, developed a statewide policy to facilitate students' ability to transfer credits from one Ohio public college or university to another in order to avoid duplication of course requirements. In addition to the above opportunities, Sinclair Community College recognizes that students gain college-level knowledge and skills through life and work experiences outside of academic settings.
Life itself is an excellent teacher. What you already know may be worth valuable course credits at Sinclair. Prior Learning Assessment is a process of identifing learning gained through life or work and assessing it for college credit. Several options are available for receiving credit for work previously completed or for knowledge and experience. The listing below is a summary of those options.
