ABOUT SINCLAIR

ATS / AIS

The Associate of Technical Study  (ATS) and Associate of Individualized Study (AIS) degrees are interdisciplinary, individualized degree programs designed to address the student’s desire for a degree not otherwise offered at Sinclair.

ATS and AIS provide associate degree options for students who:

  • have career goals that don’t fit any of the standard majors listed in the College catalog;
  • are interested in two or more fields that, in combination, are more useful to the student than any one field individually;
  • have been taking classes of interest for a while with no declared major; and/or have certain training or certification that can be transferred to Sinclair as a “block” award of credit.

The student designs the degree in the EBE 130 (Degree Planning Seminar) class, with EBE and departmental faculty assistance.  Students can combine two or more areas of study, or use block credit from outside educational agencies.  Over 400 individuals have graduated from this program since 1988.  58% of the students complete their degrees in six years.

Information sessions are available for students who wish to explore these customized degree options. To make an appointment call (937) 512-2347.
