Conrad C. Hinds Memorial Mathematics and Science Scholarship
Criteria
- Be a U.S. Citizen
- Have successfully completed 12 quarter hours toward an
Associate degree with a concentration in one of
the natural sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics,
Physics)
- Have a minumum GPA of 2.7
- Women, African-Americans and other minorities are
encouraged to apply
Application
- Submit a comprehensive transcript of academic performance
- Submit a one or two page written statement desribing his/her
interest, background and career goals
- Submit a letter of recommendation from the appropriate
institutional representative:
a) ALL APPLICANTS must obtain written recommendations
from Sinclair faculty or staff members where possible.
b) PSEO, High school students who have limited contact with
Sinclair staff/faculty may use another reference
knowledgeable in math and/or science such as a high
school teacher who can comment on the student's level
of interest and/or academic proficiency in math/science
c) High school seniors must contact their Counseling office
and obtain the school's official recommendation

Fleck Scholarship Fund
Through a generous donation of $80,000, students have received scholarships to attend select programs in the SME division, namely Automotive, Electronics, and Manufacturing.

Russ Hollis Scholarship Fund
Mr. Russ Hollis donated $100,000 through Sinclair’s Changing Lives to award scholarships in the areas of Manufacturing and Computer Literacy to high school students with emergent financial need. Students receive up to $500. A large number of students have benefited from this generous grant.

SME Faculty Recognition Scholarship
In recognition of service by retired SME faculty, two or three scholarships of about $500 are awarded to students in SME programs each year. A committee decides which retired faculty member will be honored in any given year, and endowment funds are established by donations from the faculty. The interest from the endowment is used to award the scholarships.

The Society of American Military Engineers, Kittyhawk Post
The Society of American Military Engineers, Kittyhawk Post is now accepting applications for the 2009 Barnes, Corporate, and Curtis scholarships. Barnes and Corporate scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors, and current college students, who are interested in careers in engineering, science, or architecture. The Curtis scholarship is for non-traditional students who are returning to school to pursue an advanced technical or scientific degree, or to make a career change. Applications are to be postmarked on or before April 6. The detailed descriptions and criteria for these scholarships, as well as application forms and procedures, may be found at the Post education web page.

recognize and promote women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics related fields.
